What Does your "Selfie" Say About You? Refrigerator Edition

Recently, I read a Mashable article about the social psychology of "selfies" (how's that for some nice alliteration) and how they're pretty much ubiquitous at this point. From the day's of mirror poses and myspace, to the carefully arranged shot on a webcam, they're everywhere. In Mindy Kalling's book, she writes about how her phone is filled with selfies. And my teenage niece appears to take them almost daily, as I gauged from her Twitter feed.

Anyway, I thought, yes, you can learn a lot about someone from their selfie. How they pose, the angle, whether or not they're making a pouty face, if it's in a bathroom--all those things provide some insight into the person.

So, wouldn't it be fun if food bloggers of the world did a series of refrigerator selfies? Reading the recipes people like me create is one thing, but seeing the ingredients we start with is another. So, without further ado, here's mine.

I just went to the grocery store last night, so it's particularly abundant right now. But, in general, that's what you will find in there. Organic milk and half and half, an enormous jar of kimchi, organic eggs, hard boiled eggs, yogurts (plain and greek), cut up veggies for snacking, lots of leafy greens, berries, lemons, cucumbers, tofu, cottage cheese, chicken, pork tenderloin, some chicken sausages... those are the usual suspects. Plus a host of sauces and other unusual finds from the asian market. And of course, my beloved whole foods store brand peanut butter. I cannot live without it!

What does all of that say about me? Well, I guess for starters it says I love veggies. That, and that I am obviously a coffee drinker. And that I care about my health. And also that I apparently hoard mass quantities of every kind of jam on the planet.

Now, it's your turn.

What's in yours?
